Dear City on a Hill Families,
Happy Spring! As the weather turns warmer and the days get longer, it is the beginning of testing season at school! MCAS, MAP testing, and senior finals will all be coming soon. There are a lot of dates and information below. Please talk to your student about the upcoming testing dates and the importance of trying their best on each exam. In addition to studying well in advance (start now!), remind them that getting a good night’s sleep before an exam is a great strategy to do well. We believe all students can and will succeed.
Important MCAS Information
-
MCAS for 11th graders has been cancelled. 11th graders must pass their Math and English courses next year to satisfy their graduation requirement.
-
ELA MCAS for 10th Graders has been scheduled for Monday, May 17 and Tuesday, May 18

***All 9th, 11th, and 12th grade classes will be ONLINE that week***
***All MCAS Testing is IN PERSON***
Students who do not feel comfortable coming into school will be allowed to take the MCAS in the fall. If you want your student to opt out of the MCAS this spring to take it next fall instead, this school year you must notify the school by Wednesday, May 12th.
School is Re-opening!
Starting mid-May, all students will have the option to return to a full-time learning model (Monday - Friday). This means that students may choose to attend school full-time or remain fully remote all five days. All students currently attending school two days a week will be defaulted into coming to school full time. All students currently fully remote will be defaulted to staying fully remote. If you choose to switch your student's current model, please indicate that below. If we do not hear from you by May 7th, we will keep your student in the model they are in currently.

Thank you again for all the support you’ve provided to your students and the school this year. We can’t say it enough, but we couldn’t have done this without you! In the words of Oprah Winfrey, “where there is no struggle, there is no strength.” This pandemic was and is incredibly difficult. Final Exams and standardized tests can be very difficult. We thank you for your continued strength.
Best,
Laura Edouard, Principal Sonya Pratt, Chief of School
